For so many of our growers, Artemis is the first time they’re documenting data at every step of their workflow. It can be tricky getting all of the nuances of real-world workflows documented digitally. We all know how frustrating it can be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

At Artemis, we want to ensure processes are easy to follow, data is easy to record, and the workflow matches what happens in reality as much as possible. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule. Often times, we help make processes even more efficient!

We’ve been hard at work developing features focused on reducing the time spent in Artemis. We know, sounds counterintuitive, right? If you’re spending less time in Artemis though, you’re probably spending more time out in the field working on what really matters, your business.

We’re excited to share our latest feature that helps growers enter more data, more accurately, more often in less time. Growers can now destroy plants while moving from one stage to another (or one zone to another).

Sometimes plant biology goes awry and you need to destroy plants. And it’s not just plants. You are likely destroying processed and packaged materials too. It’s important to document this loss. Forecasting is also difficult to do accurately if we don’t know all of the information and loss is a huge factor in accurate forecasting.

Our new feature allows you to log the destroyed plants, processed material, or packed inventory right when you record a move. Previously, you could log the destroyed when you are in the batch profile page, after scanning a plant barcode, or if you added a destroyed action to your plant templates.

So many of our growers noted that they were logging the destroys when they performed other actions, like moving or harvesting a batch, not on an ad hoc basis. Now, you can log both at the same time rather than doing two distinct actions.

Any recorded loss will be available in reports and compliance logs so that you can show exactly what happened and what was lost on each batch. The loss will also be included in your future batch forecasts so you have accurate forecasts at all times. Stay tuned, we’re adding destroying capability to your harvests next.

We’re excited to continue making it even easier to match your physical workflow with your digital workflow in Artemis.
