We can’t stop smiling about everything that Artemis has accomplished this year. Looking back at 2019, one theme played a prominent role in our company’s journey: growth.
The past 12 months have been a period ripe with opportunity for our Product, Customer Success, Marketing, Sales, Business Development, and Corporate teams. And at Artemis, we don’t take opportunities for granted.
Our mission is our bottom line:
We are using technology to create a world that sustains itself. We are determined to create a more profitable, more productive, and safer agricultural supply chain. We believe that no one should ever get sick from consuming plants, farmers should make a good living, farmworkers should be treated with dignity, and profitability is the key to scaling our agriculture system. Data informs us; people inspire us.
We’re the market-leading Cultivation Management Platform (CMP) because our platform puts our users first. Our engineering team works hard to incorporate customer feedback and industry research into each and every new product release. The tweaks and changes we made to the Artemis interface this year—for example, our new interactive timeline—have been developed with functionality and usability at the root of the design. New features like platform-wide Spanish capabilities and barcode traceability were built in an effort to better support our wide range of international users.
This year our user base expanded not only across continents but crops as well. In addition to enterprise farms and facilities, Artemis now serves field operations, as well as cannabis and hemp cultivators. In fact, we are now a California state-approved Metrc integrator. (Metrc is the state’s chosen Track-and-Trace System for commercial cannabis cultivation.) We’ve extremely proud to say that Artemis customers passed 100% of their regulatory compliance audits/assessments conducted by government agencies this year.
How were we able to do this? Our team more than tripled this year—including our first international hire in Canada! (Meet the whole team here.) We also welcomed new members to our Board of Directors — Dr. Kathleen Merrigan and Charlie O’Donnell.
Members of our diverse team attended over 20 industry events worldwide as exhibitors and speakers in 2019, meeting growers and innovators across the supply chain. It’s been a fruitful year of meaningful connections in the international agriculture community.
Other accomplishments this year include a transformative rebrand following the close of our $8M Series A funding round earlier this year, and a number of awards. Our Founder and CEO Allison Kopf was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 2019 Food & Drink List as well as a Women of Influence by New York Business Journal. Artemis was also an SVIEF Top30 Innovation Awards 2019 recipient.
In 2019, we worked hard to make big strides and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished. There’s a lot to look forward to in the new year—we have 2020 slated for many Artemis announcements—building off the startup muscles we flexed this past year. Join us in celebrating a bright future for our community and our industry.
